Who is your role model in online business? I ask this question because we need to have a role model that we resonate with.
I know of three very successful online entrepreneurs, that all have written a few books, have a successful online course or courses, have weekly podcasts – and are all making over million US dollars a year.
And though they have all this in common (revenue, books, courses, podcasts) – they run their business in completely different way.
Entrepreneur A, has a big team of people (20+).
Entrepreneur B, has a small team of people (less than 4).
Entrepreneur C, has no team!
How can that be? Well the truth is, if you are an entrepreneur you choose what you want to do and how you want to do it. But you need to know that you can do it your own way – the way that fits you.
I’m guessing you know of people that are like A and B, but you might be wondering about this C person. How can she not have any team?
The way she does it is:
1. She partnered with someone she trust regarding the online courses. She creates the content, but her business partner handles everything else. He makes sure people sign up, handles customer service, billing, anything you can think of. And she (Entrepreneur C) gets % off all the sold courses.
Is she getting less that she could, of course she is, but she’s willing to go this way because she does not want the overhead of handling everything regarding the online courses.
2. Ever since the got her first book agent, she has signed book deals and the publishing house takes care of distributing and selling the books. Self publishing was never an option for her, because she did not want the overhead that comes with that.
She has a huge email list, and that is a value for the publishing house. She also goes on book tours when her books come out – because she loves speaking!
3. She has her own podcast studio, where she records her weekly shows and then she lets another company take care of the rest (editing and putting it iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, e.t.c.).
This person enjoys working alone, she’s a well known expert in her field and she uses her time to become more of an expert, write, speak and enjoy live. For her a success is having no team at all. She is still able to earn million US dollars. (PS. this person is not on social media).
The reason I wanted to write this today, is because you have to know that you create your own life. You get to choose how you want to work and live. If you want to have a big team – great! If you don’t – then don’t!
