Who not How

When planning for the success of our online businesses, it is common to base our strategies on our existing skills and knowledge or on what we believe we can learn.

In this blog post, I want to guide you through an exercise that will help you identify areas where you can delegate tasks and focus on what truly matters to drive revenue. By leveraging the support of others, you can streamline your operations and pave the way for exponential growth. Let’s get started!

Ask Who not How
Decide what you need, than ask yourself WHO can help me – you should not do everything

Assessing Your Current Role: Begin by jotting down the tasks that only you can perform in your online business. To provide an example, I will share the tasks specific to my math business:

  1. Recording videos where I engage with my students.
  2. Determining the schedule for online courses.
  3. Making strategic decisions about additional content or changes.

Next, make a list of tasks that others could handle, even though you currently handle them. Here are the tasks that I currently manage, but someone else could take over:

  1. Responding to emails.
  2. Scheduling email communications for each course.
  3. Updating sales pages and thank you pages with the correct dates.
  4. Creating and optimizing Facebook ads.
  5. Adjusting landing pages and conducting A/B testing.
  6. Updating the website.

Expanding Revenue Potential: Now, let’s outline what would need to happen in your online business to increase your revenue this year, whether it’s doubling or even multiplying it tenfold. Focus solely on the outcomes and don’t worry about the “how” or feasibility at this stage. Here is my plan as an example:

  1. Explore advertising opportunities on channels beyond Facebook and Instagram.
  2. Enhance the performance of Facebook and Instagram ads.
  3. Increase visibility through speaking engagements and radio appearances.
  4. Develop a new website, considering the current one’s age.
  5. Publish a math book to expand reach and authority.

Identifying the Right Support: Once you have noted what is required to boost your revenue, consider who can assist you in achieving these goals. Reflect on individuals within your network who possess the necessary expertise or connections. Focus on the “who” aspect. Remember, you don’t have to take on everything yourself. Why invest time and energy into tasks you aren’t skilled at when others can handle them more effectively?

Conclusion: By completing this exercise, you gain valuable insights into areas where you can delegate responsibilities and leverage the expertise of others. Embrace the idea of collaboration and find the right people who can contribute to your success. If you are uncertain about how to begin, feel free to reach out to me. Share your task, and I may be able to suggest someone you can connect with or provide guidance on where to start. Remember, strategic delegation is a key step towards scaling your online business and maximizing its revenue potential.
